Please excuse the mixed sports metaphors but a fact is a fact. Joe Sgro—a 2003 Miami Ad School copywriting graduate working at DDB in Chicago—has created one of the top Super Bowl spots for three years running.
In 2005, he and his art director Dan Strasser (also an alumnus) created the top Super Bowl spot according to USA Today: "Skydiver" for Bud Light. In 2006 they followed that up with "Streaker," ranked right in the middle of the top ten, for AB flagship brand Budweiser.
Now, in 2007, Joe has scored again. Despite Dan's return to Canada (he's now at DDB in Vancouver), Joe is back in the top ten with "Rock, Paper, Scissors" for Bud Light. Ranked number three by USA Today, it was also recognized as the second most-watched by TiVo.
Congrats Joe! We can't wait to see what you'll have for us next year.
